Importing and Exporting Subscriptions

You can share your subscriptions with other people or import subscriptions from most other newsreaders.

Exporting

Choose File > Export SubscriptionsÉ. A standard save dialog box appears prompting you for a name and place to save your subscriptions list.

You can choose to export all your subscriptions or just the selection in the Subscriptions pane.

You can choose the format, either a flat list or with groups preserved. (The flat format is most compatible with other newsreaders, but many understand OPML with groups.)

Importing

If you have a subscriptions OPML file—from a friend, or from another newsreader, or from another copy of NetNewsWire—you can import it: choose File > Import SubscriptionsÉ. A standard open dialog asks you to find the file to import.

When you import subscriptions, your current subscriptions are left intact—they are not deleted.

Any duplicates in the imported subscriptions are ignored, so you don’t end up with the same subscription twice. The duplicate checking is strict: if two feeds come from the same site, but donÕt have the same URL, then NetNewsWire will not consider them duplicates.
